It's a "Freak for All"

Welcome to the Tour de Freaks for July 2012!!

You have likely arrived here from the blog of the   talented Sandy Mathis at Stamp With Sandy.

This month we decided to have a bit of a “freak for all” and have a more wide open theme for the Tour.

Many of us were fortunate to attend Stampin’ Up’s Convention in Salt Lake City last week where we got to meet up for lunch and a swap. Many of the projects you’ll see on the tour are a product of that swap.

We were each asked to create two projects to swap with the group so both of my cards I created will be shown here. And since a Tour de Freaks isn’t complete without 3-D items, we were each asked to be sure to create a 3-D item to feature with our cards.

Here’s a picture of those of us who were lucky enough to attend Convention and meet up for the swap:

I count myself VERY lucky to be a part of this wonderful group of talented women! I hope you will enjoy seeing the many wonderful projects they each created!

My first project uses a color combination straight out of Stampin’ Up’s Color Coach: Perfect Plum, Raspberry Ripple, and Pink Pirouette. I needed a light neutral to stamp on so I turned to Very Vanilla. The stamp sets used are Flowering Flourishes for the background and You Are Loved for the sentiment. The “You Are Loved” stamp set was featured in the 2011 Holiday Mini catalog but carried over into the new 2012-2013 Annual Catalog and I am so excited!! I LOVE this stamp set was so happy to see it would be around for a while!

Supplies Used: Stamps: Flowering Flourishes, You are Loved; Ink: Pink Pirouette, Raspberry Ripple, Perfect Plum; Paper: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum, Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette, Subtles Pattern Print Stack; Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder, Designer Label Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Dimensionals

This next card features all new product from the upcoming Holiday Catalog which begins on August 1. You don’t want to miss out on these AMAZING new products so don’t forget to come back and shop after August 1!

Supplies Used: Stamps: More Merry Messages, Keepsake Ornaments; Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake; Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Be of Good Cheer DSP, Champagne Glimmer Paper; Early Espresso Core’dinations Cardstock; Accessories: Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies; Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Large Scallop Edgelit Die, Dimensionals

To continue with the festive mood as I start switching mental gears to the holidays, I decided to create a fun little paper bow for my 3-D project. These are super-duper easy and add A LOT of pizzazz to any gift!

Supplies Used: Paper: Be of Good Cheer DSP, Cherry Cobbler; Accessories: Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Silicone Craft Sheet, Basic Pearls Jewels, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Very Vanilla Seam Binding

Thank you for stopping in to see me!! Please leave me a comment and let me know you were here!

  10. Jason, I love your bow with the dsp! Did you use crystal effects on the pearl? I hope so! I am also a purple girl so I love your love card - very regal color combination - literally! And of course the Christmas card is stunning. And as I look at it, I'm pretty sure I could do that myself so that makes it extra nice! Thanks for sharing your talents!
